What Does My Period Look Like

Homecoming

When I saw her last year, I found in a pitiful state. As far back as I go back in my memory, it was present. In my recollection, it was larger, darker. That day, I found her well demolished. Same parts.
The moment was painful. I wish it protects me as she had done for decades, I can still give him my most precious possessions. But it was no longer possible to protect me and reassure me. Against all odds, she managed to keep his distinction of sobriety. Under my fingers, her sweetness was intact. Overwhelmed by another grief, I left there. I had a certainty: I will get it, I needed her. I wanted him back its strength, beauty of years past.
Yesterday, after being well taken care of her, she came back, still as beautiful.
She took her place at home. And it was under a flood of emotions that my eyes are rediscovering its pace, its handle, his drawings, a drawer, turned feet.
She and I are going back to our history, where constraints we stopped and forced to walk together. Soon, she will welcome back my little things. She missed .......

Stomach Flu When More Than 5 Days

Stork Gallery Exhibition at Joshua Rauscher Plot HR

Opening of the exhibition Joshua Rauscher, White Cube Giant Double Tetris (bases misleading # 2), Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 17:30 Plot to HR .

In a state saving, we change the statues but it retains the bases.
Claude Roy

Joshua Rauscher presents the work performed during his residency in November and December 2010 PLOT HR. In space naked, two clusters of bases, one hand and the other nine, accompanied by a video projection showing the stacking of several attempts made in the premises of the ERBA. A second small slideshow scrolls, for the record, images of sculptures unbolted the occasion of brutal political change.

Note original intent (November 2010)
Currently in residence in PLOT RH (Regional School of Fine Arts, Rouen), I work the following project: group then duplicate all bases used in various art classes for the ERBA Rouen.

The origin of this project is essentially intuitive and follows the seduction exercised systematically on me these stacks of simple volumes, human scale, each time I crossed one.

At first glance, the project and the intention may seem a bit cheesy (even my own eyes the result of duplicate bases and declare sculptures nothing very extraordinary!). However, many of my interests usual are present: the notion of involuntary sculpture, crafts and manufacturing, modularity and combinatorial, the relationship sculpture / architecture, furniture and more furniture exhibition, duplication (copy, replica, facsimile) The organization of space, the game ...

like this I guess the part that should result from this work: two large clusters of bases identical. One showing marks of time, traces of wear. The other, placed near the first, but like new, like copy and paste each element but also all. The internal organization of the original (the stacking mode or spreading) can result in different combinations as copying repeated, identical or mirror.

Specifically, I counted twenty-one bases that I would conveniently duplicated twice: one copy is necessary to quietly steal the originals belonging to the school of art (via exchange the sly), a second pair to the original.

I counted that would require 95 m2 wood panels, 4 pounds of glue, staples and a few hundred 15 to 20 working days.

Exhibition opening BLV 4 Conversations between works , Saturday, February 11, 2011 at the Musée Niepce in Chalon sur Saone.

with:

Berenice Abbott, Lewis Baltz , John Coplans, Hamish Fulton, Paul-Armand Gette, Bettina Rheims, Keiichi Tahara, Heinrich Kühn, Thomas Ruff, Stephen Carjat, Stephen Neurdein, Walker Evans, William Klein, Felix Nadar, Florence Chevallier, Sophie Calle, Alfred Stieglitz, Umbo

Commissioner of the exhibition: Sonia Floriant

Since its filing in 2003 by its assigns, the collection of Bernard Lamarche-Vadel became an object of study and experience teaching. The museum keeps Niépce new look at this collection through research and its applications and technology museum [Corpus [blv] 1, [blv] 2, [blv] 3 and [blv] 4]. With

[blv] 1, we installed the collection in the heart of the museum by a collector in the first tribute to his collection.

[blv] 2 highlighted the special relationship that the collector had with death through two artists he has brought and who accompanied him to the end, Jean and Jean-Philippe Rault Reverdot.

[blv] 3 was aware of the least known part of this deposit, collection of photographic books (1300 books of photographs). Corpus (2003-2006), reformulated in Arles photography festival for 2010, was an opportunity to repeat this experience and technology museum of digital output from the collection in its entirety, without confiscation and independent of place (1 500 images ).

Finally, [blv] 4 sheds light on the vision of Bernard Lamarche-Vadel its photographic collection, its scope, its link with a history of photography and more generally a history of the arts (literature and art). This is a small set we do a raid again in this collection the few major historical documents, to conduct conversations with the substantial body constituted by the contemporary pieces.

Any collection consists of a single individual over a period of time, reveals his findings. The overrepresentation of an artist by the number of images or the presence of a heterogeneous element does not create discord or variance. In the collection of Bernard Lamarche-Vadel marked by contemporary photographers of the years 1980-1990, old photographs or prior to this period is nothing against the numerically 1500 numbers.

The collector is not specifically motivated this small set. Yet, just like a walking encyclopedia, he has systematically assembled around major historical categories: the American landscape and the portrait (the portrait mortuary); documentary photography, commercial, fashion, experimentation pictorialists; architecture , amateur photography, etc..

Around these few historical works and, not least, Watkins, Abbott, Evans, Stieglitz, Kühn Umbo, Carjat, Man Ray, Nadar, Neurdein, gravity and a broad contemporary ensemble in which we went to make a draw selection "ideal".

Beyond the differences in size, color, frame, framing, no gap between the pieces chosen or if there is one, it is purely chronological. For, by bringing them closer to each other on each chair rail, we have highlighted the possible relationship conversations.
Carleton Watkins and converse with Hamish Fulton and Lewis Baltz; Umbo with Bettina Rheims and Keiichi Tahara; Heinrich Kühn pictorialist with the Paul-Armand Gette and John Coplans, Thomas Ruff with Etienne and Etienne Carjat Neurdein (photographers of the 19th century), Berenice Abbott and Walker Evans with William Klein and Lewis Baltz, Felix Nadar with Florence Chevallier and Sophie Calle. Only
The Steerage Alfred Stieglitz, placed in the proximity of other works, arrives in recess. Rare coin and coin-lighthouse history of photography. But conversation considered perhaps more worthy of that story may take place: Coplans admired Watkins, Kühn worked with Stieglitz, a German photography Ruff is linked to images of the 30s a Umbo, etc..

Mentally, all conversations are possible, the walls can be disrupted and the traditional categories of exposure restored. Each will the conversation he wants. This exhibition

has been given to imaging Lannion from October 16 to November 27, 2010. It is here at the museum Niépce, altered, redesigned, reformulated in terms of specificity and foremost, it is extended, to ensure the continuity of previous exhibitions BLV1, BLV2, BLV3 and Corpus.

Opening of the exhibition of Jean Rault, The one and the other, Photographs 1983-2010, Saturday, February 12 to 18 hours, the Museum of Louviers, in the presence of artist.

Curated Michel and Philippe Natier Cyroulnik, director of 19, Centre d'Art Contemporain de Montbéliard

In the wake of its two main masters: August Sander and Diane Arbus, Jean Rault for focusing on the representation of the body through a demanding practice of portraiture and the nude portrait. Jean Rault lives and works in Normandy, Paris and Japan over the past ten years.

The retrospective portraits of Jean Rault first presented in 2010 at 19, Centre régional d'art contemporain de Montbéliard and this year at the Musée de Louviers highlights the consistency of the work of this major photographer, while practicing forays into other fields such as landscape, portraiture has been privileged about it. His work took off under the auspices of two masters of portraiture, August Sander and Diane Arbus. It is indeed at the crossroads of what can in body image and function as an index symptom.
portraits of Jean Rault show great attention to the other: At this time and that other embodied and seized what they crystallize in life, load and desire. But injuries, violence, stigma and What write their own existence and the gaze that stares.
whether made in particular at the Musée de Louviers is symbolic. That, at the beginning his career, he found, with the then Conservative, Anne-Marie Rothiot, particularly attentive listening to his work. Come together at the Museum of Louviers, on advice of pioneering was Peter Gaudibert conservative founder of the ARC in Paris to present its initial work and gather initial advice was for him a moment of great importance , which marks his journey as a kind of tag memory. Back at the museum today is a way to measure the progress made.
monograph published for the occasion, dedicated the portraits of Jean Rault, highlighted with his impressive strength to the body art and people exposed; updating their multiple blooms, but also shadows and ambiguities that configure them. And this with acuity and a consciousness which draws its light in a subtle dialogue between the body and the paint has to issue more dense.
Featuring many reproductions, this book is assisted by three authors advised. In a text of a densely historian and critic Pierre Wat sheds light on the essential characteristics of this major work. The philosopher Marcel Hénaff the circumscribed sighting his art to strip it to update the humanity in all its forms. Finally, criticism Catherine Pomparat, combining text and image, in a nod to Roland Barthes, updates which crosses from east and west in the photographs of the artist since his deliberate inclusion in the cultural area of Japan.

Jason Karaïndros: Figures (video)

Opening Exhibition "The Beautiful is always bizarre" CB Friday, February 11, 2011 at 18:30 in Frac Haute-Normandie

" The Beautiful is always bizarre"
CB Carte Blanche Philippe Piguet, art critic and curator

Works :

Glen Baxter, Philippe Bazin, Anne Brégeaut Philippe Hatchet, Daireaux François, Gaël Davrinche, Jean-Jacques Dumont, Joan Fontcuberta, Gregory Forstner, Fréger, Olivier Goulet, Hippolyte Hentgen, Jason Karaïndros, Farida The Suavé, Olivier Leroi, Natacha Lesueur, Iris Levasseur Isabelle Lévénez , Remy Marlot, Javier Pérez, Francoise Petrovitch, Paul Pouvreau, Jorge Queiroz, Annelise Ragno Hugh Reip, Anne-Marie Schneider, Sterbak, Ji-Yeon Sung, Jeanne Susplugas, Toguo Patrick Tosani Yves Trémorin
Bizarre , right? Just browse all acquisitions FRAC Haute Normandie that were made over the last three years to realize that most contain some degree of strangeness. Expected result of consultation? No, at least what solved the choices that had been envisaged. Mere coincidence, then? Possible effects of time are still unfathomable. Deviation personal look? Probably, but it is fully accepted as true that the experience of art should never leave us unscathed. In a world
commonplace, standardized and stereotyped as ours, not surprising that occupies such a weird place among contemporary artists. While commenting on it, it allows them to tell the world that it is another. Of the project in an elsewhere which otherwise operates as a refuge, at least seeking it prospectively. Praise of the strange and incongruous. The look is always in need of shifted images and the mental spirit of adventure novel. Whatever their nature - painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video and installation - the works of artists who are gathered here were selected based on their intrinsic quality to surprise the viewer, either in content or narrative their creative process. In all cases, they bring into question the reality and its conventions, as they hold the power of the imagination of their creators and to the ability of the viewer to invest his own.

Thus, the designs black Hugues Reip open on a twisted and irrational world, at once poetic, fantastical and fun, which leads the eye across a mirror unpredictable. In the chill silence of their material, photos of Ji-Yeon Sung force us to face to face so quiet that he heard an ominous and mysterious. Characters Gregory Forstner and Fréger return the existential aesthetics of the mask for what it determines to order another one unfathomable. The bizarre or the possibility of an elsewhere.

Small Metal Boats For Sale

Dominique de Beir and Kacha Legrand at the Galerie du Haut-Pavé (paris)

Opening of the exhibition Small papers Saturday, February 5th from 4:00 p.m. at the Gallery of the High Pavement.

From 5th to 12th February 2011, the Galerie du Haut-Pavé offers a clash of the group. Were invited forty-six artists who have exhibited in such places in the last fifteen years, and some guests, close to the gallery and its spirit. The theme selected is that of small papers. Each exhibitor has been invited to exhibit four to five works on paper, limiting their size to that of an A5. The techniques used range from the conventional design and photography, through a multitude of ways, direct or diverted, to use a sheet of paper. The set represents a complete overview of contemporary artistic practices using paper. Over the rails, the viewer will discover pages of sketchbooks, sketches of plans, proposals more refined formulations of initial ideas, works ... definitive Some artists that work on paper is not common practice, have imposed the exercise of inventing a possible use of paper, with the additional constraint of small size, requiring some form of intimacy, as opposed to any bombastic speech or any final proposal. In others, for whom drawing is part of the creative process, the proposed exercise forced them to a suitable choice for their works fund intermediaries. Others, familiar with the practice of drawing, had to pay to the test expression in reduced dimensions, requiring concentration, sobriety and concisely. That, somehow, an invitation to enter, such as burglary, in the laboratories of contemporary art which is given by the Gallery of the High Pavement.

That said, I'm still in a research, experimentation and I stay in questions purely plastic. I'm trying to find a balance between abstraction and a possible reality.
