As part of the Workshop Research and Design Spot & Stop, set up the School Regional des Beaux-Arts in Rouen by Lucile Encrevé in partnership with The Spot, Contemporary Art Center of Le Havre in order to produce a common reflection on the discourse of artist, a carte blanche was given to Philip Decrauzat, Swiss artist born in 1974, to be commissioner of the exhibition, from February 15 to March 15, 2011, in the Great Galleries of ERBA. Titled
SHOULD BLEED BLACK TO EDGE, his proposal gathered around him works of eleven artists, abstract artists of various generations, half of which belongs to him as the rich Swiss contemporary scene: Francis Baudevin Stephane Dafflon, Gilles Furtwängler Julije Knifer Morellet, Olivier Mosset, Tania Mouraud, Damián Navarro, Steven Parrino, Hugo Pernet and Christian Robert-Tissot. An exhibition of abstract works, black and white, radical and remotely (for humor, gaming, ownership), questioning the boundaries of painting while the desecration, thinking about key works, including ZZ ( 2009) Olivier Mosset, and can be read as a contribution to the discourse of Decrauzat.
Echoing the exhibition and in the Research Laboratory Edith (School of Art and Design Le Havre-Rouen), which develops an inventory of artists' editions and graphic 1980s to present day, the gallery will host a selection Martainville multiple published by the Contemporary Art Center and publishing independent and experimental circuit, founded in 1998 by a handful of former students of the School of Art Lausanne (including Philippe Decrauzat) - edition in which the title of the exhibition refers (bleed: bleed printing, that is to say, without white border).
Tuesday, February 15, Decrauzat give, to inform its choice, a conference at 14.30 and Gilles Furtwängler reading his poems at the opening, which begins at 17:30.
The Regional School of Fine Arts in Rouen and Le Spot thank the artists, lenders (FRAC Bourgogne, Dijon FRAC Basse-Normandie, Caen), galleries (Triple V, Paris, Praz-Delavallade, Paris and Dominique Fiat, Paris) for their invaluable assistance in organizing this exhibition, and students for their participation in the installation and implementation, alongside artists, murals of Gilles Furtwängler and Damián Navarro.
