This exhibition is an opportunity to highlight the connections and differences that become speaking in terms of work of these two artists from different generations: the work who knows how to research, works discreet and quiet away any worries effusion. A notion of simplicity of materials common to them, a report to the model, working on shapes and space beyond the narrative, some poetry ... and yet works very specific.
Historically Pierre Buraglio uses recycled materials, or pictorial quality carriers who become assembly that offers them the artist: a work of formation of the image, haunted by the masters as well as by the personal memories of the artist. The "paper" is an intrinsic part of the work, with all capacity and quality of handling that entails. We are between discovery and simplicity, complexity and obviously this is what constitutes the mystery. Without hierarchy, the work of Damien Cabanes occurs between paintings, sculptures, books. The choice does not take place either between abstraction and figuration, but still the artist prefers the simplicity of procedures. In his large gouaches on paper colored Fauves, the isolated figures or groups seem suspended in space and yet they do not float, they are rooted in what interests him: the question of painting. Some
"works-surprise" from the world of both artists will punctuate the hanging of the exhibition.
